Save the Date! 2016 Common Field Convening

The Common Field Convening is a four-day gathering created by and for the field of visual artists' organizations. The convening investigates the contexts and conditions of experimental, non-commercial projects and organizations across the country, exploring existing and emerging structures of support, and providing opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and exchange around practical and value-driven issues in the field. The program includes panels, discussions, skill shares, events, tours, and celebrations throughout the host city. The convening provides a rare opportunity for exchange, resources sharing and cross-pollination for visual arts organizers whose organizations support artists and foster experimental projects that are responsive to and embedded in the places and communities in which they live and work.

Cannonball Announces Operational Restructuring And Strengthening of Existing Programs

Cannonball is pleased to announce a new direction for the local arts organization. At the end of 2015, the Cannonball Board began evaluating its diverse programming, and each one’s impact on the Miami arts community. It was decided that, in order to maintain the integrity of its mission, and also foster growth and innovation in each program, Cannonball would seek an industry leader to acquire and expand on the Residency and R.A.D. Moving forward, ArtCenter South Florida will have full operational control of these two programs. Cannonball is confident that ArtCenter South Florida’s financial strength and strong community standing will bolster the Residency and R.A.D. Cannonball will refine its focus on its LegalLink and WaveMaker Grants platforms, allowing the organization to execute on what has always been its key mission- supporting artists and innovative forms of cultural production.
