How to See Climate Change Workshop led by Nicholas Mirzoeff

Nicholas Mirzoeff, a faculty member in r.a.d’s summer semester, will present a public lecture and lead a workshop on the challenges of visualizing climate change at the Pérez Art Museum Miami on Friday, June 26th, starting at 3 pm. The lecture and workshop are part of a collaboration between r.a.d (research.art.dialogue), an experimental pedagogical initiative launched by Cannonball, and artist Marjetica Potrc, whose exhibition The School of the Forest/Miami Campus, is on display at the Pérez Art Museum Miami through October 18th, 2015.

Nicholas Mirzoeff is Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, and one of the founders of the academic discipline of Visual Culture. His most recent book, The Right to Look: A Counterhistory of Visuality (2011), is being expanded into a trilogy. Mirzoeff’s course, “Visual Activism and the Climate Disaster,” will run June 22nd through June 26th at Cannonball.
