Artist and activist Rozalinda Borcila will present "Riding the Zone.” Anchored in a long-term art/territorial research project, this talk will consider some of the ways border regimes are created, experienced, and resisted in the spaces of daily life. The presentation is propelled by this crucial question: What are some of the urgent problems facing art practice in relation to radical social movements and the possibility for prefiguring abolitionist futures? This talk will be an integral part of Borcila’s residency at Cannonball, during which she is co-teaching the course Massively Invisible Objects with cultural critic Brian Holmes.
