Public Talks by James McAnally and Antena

On November 18, 2014 Temporary Art Review editor James McAnally and Cannonball Visiting Residents Antena will be paired to deliver a public program.

From the Independent Salons of mid-19th century France, through the wave of artist-run spaces and projects founded since the 1960s, artists’ frustration with the limitations set by existing institutions has led them to create autonomous models for collective self-organizing. In parallel with a feature on Miami's artist-run spaces,  Editor James McAnally will discuss Temporary Art Review's vision as an 'anti-profit' publication as well as other alternative strategies formed in the absence of working models for art writing and publishing.

For this first public presentation at Cannonball, Antena will conduct an experimental performance in poetic archeology of urban space.
